The Institute of Polish for Foreigners is a TELC Examination Center authorized to organize the examination in Polish as a foreign language at dual level B1-B2.
The TELC Polish language exam allows you to obtain a certificate from TELC GmbH, WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH (TELC), which confirms the knowledge of the Polish language at least B1 level in the procedure for granting a residence permit for a long-term resident of the European Union.
TELC B1 certificate entitles you to obtain long-term EU resident status in accordance with the regulation of the MSWiA (Ministry of Interior and Administration) and TELC B2 certificate allows admission to the universities in Poland in accordance with the regulation of the MEN (Ministry of National Education and Higher Education).
TELC B1-B2 exam are compliant with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR).
*** A person taking the exam must be at least 18 years old on the day of taking it. People aged 10-17 can also take the exam with written consent from their parents.
What is the Telc exam like and how long it takes?
Telc exam is dual exam testing level B1 and B2 simultaneously. This exam assesses language skills such as reading, writing and listening and consists of 1) written and 2) oral parts.
1) The written part starts with the listening module and lasts 25 minutes. The recordings are listened to only once. The next two modules concern the ability to read texts with comprehension and lexical and grammatical issues – a total of 60 minutes. The last module is writing – it lasts 30 minutes and you have to complete the task of writing an e-mail. The written exam lasts 115 minutes, followed by a break. There are no breaks between parts of the written exam. After the break, candidates have time to prepare for the oral part (20 minutes), and then they enter the oral part in pairs.
2) Oral part – lasts about 15 minutes. The tasks involve establishing contact and conducting direct conversations with other participants. Just before the oral part, the examinee has about 15 minutes to prepare
When the examresult is positive?
In the TELC B1-B2 dual exam, in order to receive a B1 level certificate, the examinee must obtain 50% of the total score in each part of the exam. Candidates who obtain a score below 50% in one or more parts will not receive a certificate. To receive a B2 level certificate, the examinee must obtain 60% of the total score in each part of the exam. It is necessary to obtain at least 50% (or 60%) of the score from each part.
Exam results and certificate receipt:
The exam result with the certificate can be collected from 6 to 8 weeks from the exam date. The certificate can be collected at IKO at ul. Foksal 16, 00-372 in Warsaw. It is possible to send the certificate by courier, in which case the responsibility for any loss and shipping costs lies with the ordering party.

The cost of the TELC B1/B2 dual exam is PLN 1050. The price includes a webinar introducing the exam (1 meeting).

If you withdraw from the exam:
- occurred up to 20 business days before the exam, a 50% refund is possible.
- occurred later than 20 business days before the exam, it is not possible to refund the exam fee or reschedule it for another date.
TELC Exam B1-B2 Preparatory Courses:
We provide TELC exam preparatory coursesfor B1 and B2 levels online. Exam courses are provided in the evening, consist of 5 or 10 meetings of 2 hours each, a total of 10 or 20 hours, the cost of the course is PLN 350 or 600 PLN.
