The Institute of Polish for Foreigners has specialized in teaching Polish as a foreign language since 1994 and is authorized to organize certificate exams in Polish as a foreign language, such as: State exam, TELC exam and ECL exam. Since 2001, our Institute has been a member of the European Consortium for the Certificate of Achievement in Modern Languages. The basis for the description of the levels of language competences tested in the certificate examinations is the description contained in the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and is consistent with the quality requirements of the international ALTE association. Our Polish language program and original textbooks for learning Polish are also based on this description.
The State Exam Certificate entitles you to obtain Polish citizenship and the status of a long-term EU resident (here is a link to the state exam), while the TELC and ECL exam Certificates entitles you to obtain the status of a long-term EU resident. TELC is an exam focused more on practical skills (here is the link to Telc). ECL is a standard exam (here is a link to ECL). Exam dates, registration and schedule of preparatory courses for the exam you will find below.
